Terms of Service

1. Agreement

By booking a route with Kyoto Routes LLC, you agree to these terms. We are a registered travel agency in Kyoto Prefecture (\u4eac\u90fd\u5e9c\u77e5\u4e8b\u767b\u9332\u65c5\u884c\u696d \u7b2c3-12471\u53f7). Our service provides self-guided walking route kits with an initial guided walk.

2. Service Description

Each booking includes: (a) a printed washi paper route map personalized with your name, (b) access to audio guide stops via QR code, (c) a curated list of local cafe recommendations, (d) one guided walk led by a certified guide, and (e) a self-guided return route for future independent walks.

The guided walk is limited to a maximum of 6 participants unless otherwise specified. Children under 12 must be accompanied by an adult. We do not provide transportation, accommodation, or travel insurance.

3. Booking and Payment

You may pay on arrival at the route start point or in advance via our secure online payment system. Prices are listed in Japanese Yen (\u00a5) and include consumption tax. We accept major credit cards and cash.

Your booking is confirmed only upon receipt of payment or explicit written confirmation from our team. Walk-ins are accepted subject to guide availability but we strongly recommend booking in advance.

4. Cancellation Policy

Cancellations made at least 48 hours before the scheduled walk receive a full refund. Cancellations between 24-48 hours receive a 50% refund. Cancellations less than 24 hours before the walk are non-refundable.

If we must cancel due to severe weather or guide illness, you will receive a full refund or the option to reschedule at no additional cost.

5. Liability

Walking routes involve physical activity on public streets, trails, and stairs. You participate at your own risk. Kyoto Routes LLC is not liable for injury, loss, or damage sustained during a walk unless caused by our gross negligence.

We recommend that all participants carry appropriate travel insurance. Our guides are trained in basic first aid but are not medical professionals.

6. Governing Law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of California, United States, without regard to conflict of law principles. Any disputes arising from these terms shall be resolved in the courts of Los Angeles County, California.
